gordo and i are up in grouse this weekend for the 48 hours of snowboarding! we woke up at 5:30 this morning to come in from whistler! we are going to be riding until sunday morning at 9 am with maybe an hour here and there for sleep! we'll be blogging every 4 hours so check it out!

Revelstoke

This past weekend the whole Oronge team headed to Revelstoke. We had a really great time. Getting 2 sunny days in a row. Landon came home with 250$ for taking third place in the Revelstoke rail jam. Kieran took it home for the skiers and won himself 1200$. We were lucky with the weather and got some much needed filming done.

Powder At Night Sailors Delight

Sunday night brought us over a foot of new snow at the hill. Incase you don't ride at Sunpeaks, a foot of snow is an amazing amount for the mountain. We took out the brand new lights and generator for a little test drive and shot some powder riding and other shenanigans. Fueled by a large bottle of vodka we managed to stay out in the snow for a few hours before calling it quits.

Filming season has officially begun. With snow falling in Kamloops the jib season has started. Today we set up this roller to roller gap. I came out with a solid limp after coming up short not once but twice. Mac was able to clear it though. Gotta wait for the teaser to see the shots though.

well, since everyone else is updating on here, i better hop on the bandwagon.

as some of you may know, gordo and i (tristan) moved up to whistler.
i'll skip all the boring stuff and go straight to the shred. Gordo has been shredding the hills pretty hard the past few weeks and has been tearing apart the blackcomb park. I just got my pass last week and cant sleep at night because im so excited to snowboard every morning.

our buddy EMILIO came up for the weekend and we got to hit the slopes! we got some powder on friday so it was FUN!
on saturday, we went down to seymour for the Rome Pre-Jib event and had a ton of fun. there were hot dogs, rails, hippers, culverts, hot dogs, and more hot dogs. gordo made finals and emilio got his name written down!
i gotta run to work though!

The snow is slowly falling around here. The start of the season has been pretty rough conditions all over the place. Yesterday a few of us made a trip out to Revelstoke to get some early season powder. Most of the snow tracked out but we still made it a good day. Can't wait to go back!

Well as Tristan said the seasons pretty much done. This season was a crazy one! Everybody learned so much. Not only with riding but with filming and traveling too. I realize we don't have a teaser yet, but it will come within the next few weeks for real. Russ is just finishing up production on the song. Oh yeah, this post was about photos. The end of the season reminded me that I started shooting photos outside of photo class just after the season ended last year.So I put together a slideshow to wrap up my first year of shooting. So here it is. The last year in photos.

With the last week of the Sun Peaks season upon us, we knew we all had to be on our game and get some final shots for the video, which ended up going really well and we hope to show you some banger shots with our upcoming video. It was sad to ride the final chair of the season but we can all say it was our best season yet.

GOOD NEWS THOUGH!
Gord and I are heading up to Whistler today for a few days to try and snag some last-minute shots. We get to meet up with our good friend and long lost lover Andrew as well :) . We will inform you how it goes and hopefully get a little video up with some B-shots and fooling around for you guys.

Sorry about the lack of updates, but the videos have been coming and are just being held under rapse.

The Injured List

March proved to be a rough month for the crew. Scott was the first to go down. A freak dance floor incident left him with a torn ACL. Andrew sprained his ankle a few weekends ago, it was such a bad sprain that he will be out for another 5 weeks! Gord broke his scaphoid, I have no idea how. Kalki also tore his ACL and his Meniscus while practicing for the Showdown Throwdown Hoedown. Macs shoulder was all bunged up after saturdays warmup at silverstar, but it seemed to be alright by the end of the weekend. We are in the last few weeks of filming snowboarding, because the hill closes on the 13th. That doesn't mean we are finished though, we still have a lot to do for the movie after the seasons done.

Contrary to popular belief within the group, I actually do make videos. Some people seem to question this from time to time, like Tristan in his last post. In the past week I have been editing up a storm, much of which nobody will ever see except those who live in my basement or occupy it from time to time. But there is an exception here. Emilio and I went out the other day to shoot some randomness, and here it is.

so, since we havent really updated, i'll fill you in. YOULOOKGOOD- Andrew made it into the finals with a 5th place finish and was going for the best trick, frontside rodeo 9 or 10. didnt quite land it but still pretty sick. Gord and Mac had respectable finishes as well. We all had fun. Emilio also stomped his runs so he was stoked... i guess. In more recent news, at the Oronge Garden Allan took 2nd in the Open, Gord got 3rd, and Tristan (I) got 1rst on the B side. Andrew ended up spraining his ankle and is taking the week to rest up. MORE recently, Scott got into a HORRIBLE dancing accident and ended up with a minor tear of the ACL. Pretty lame. But the rest of us have been riding hard this week.
At Silver Star this weekend is the Showdown Throwdown Hoedown competition, We'll let you know how it goes! Hopefully one of us will come home with some cash! For rent and ringing the bell and making it to the end of the season basically. If Allan ever made a video we'd show it to you, but it takes time! Sorry friends.

the you look good comp. is on saturday, and all of us are trying to get our tricks down in preparation. We've all been working on our triple sow-cows, X-UPS and triple heel clickers. Hopefully we get some good scores from them! If we get some shooting done in the next few days we'll let you know.

Road Trip!

We got to 100 mile house yesterday. Gord has been telling us we have to come here since the start of the season. So far its been quite the adventure. Day 1 was just a serious of mishaps and bad Karma. I could write about what happened, but its a long one.

The photos of Gord at the 'Warm up rail.' This was supposed to be a fun session. There was a lot of bad luck, but it was also a good time. We had a session on a frozen waterfall today. Some good stuff came out of it. There are more plans in the works for this trip, its not over yet.

Gords missing the summertime and decided to go swimming. Didn't work out for him, he is still drying his boots out. He was soaking but still killed it.

After the whole crew consumed copious amounts of beverages the night before in honour of Gord and my birthday, and waking up to a dusting of snow on top of ice it was obvious that nobody was feeling the shred. For whatever reason I brought out the camera and we decided to film. After about 3 or 4 runs the day was over and we all went away with the feeling that tomorrow would bring better things.

Learning Curve

Well, Gord, Tristan, Andrew and I had a pretty interesting endeavor on the past weekend. We were quickly taught a meaningful lesson on snowboard travel and competitions. We now know the importance of being prepared to leave, where we are going to stay, and what a bitch mother nature can be sometimes. And although we were stuck in rain, fog, and wearing soaking wet jeans, thats not to say we didn't have a good time. Cause when it comes down to it, as long as your shreddin' with some good bro's your bound to have a couple laughs, regardless of the let downs you might face. So for future reference, always be stoked to shred, and don't let disapointing outcomes get the best of you.

We have had night missions, bowl sessions, and powder in the last 2 days alone. We have a new addition to the crew. Its been a busy week for everyone. Tristan, Scott, Gord, and Brock headed to Revelstoke last week to check out the new mountain. From what I have seen in the footage they had a ton of fun. Mac and I headed to a slopestyle contest at Big White. The full park is up at Sun Peaks now and its super fun. I will try to get a new blog video soon.

Fun Run

It may seem from our blog like we have a monkey that holds the camera and rides behind us. I can assure you that this isn't entirely true. We are trying to balance gathering footage for our movie while still trying to entertain the internet world with B footage snowboarding. To make sure we aren't getting all super sweet footage all the time we like to take runs with the camera in our hands the whole way, passing it around like a hot potato. Heres a video from today! Bad days?

Every once in a while you come across a day at the hill when the only thought that goes through your head is, "maybe tomorrow will be better?" Today was one of those days. The tourists have packed the snow on the hill down to ice with a thin layer of dust to slow you down. The lift lines were still long. Tripods are still heavy. Mac realized his board was broken (probably from the switch euro carves we were doing all morning!) This video would have been longer, possibly cooler, except the camera got to wet and decided to not work anymore. So this is a video that was never meant to be good, just a reminder that bad days are still fun.

Happy New Year! Sunpeaks First Flight Demo went down last night. Mac, Tristan, and Gord all rode well. Some sweet tricks were thrown down for the skiers too. Finally got some filming done during the day too. Hopefully we can be less lazy in the near future and get some stuff done!

Sweet day today! Rail jam at sunpeaks. Everyone killed it, but in the end Gord ended up with 2nd in the open class and Mac taking second in the junior(with a run that included a backflip and a super sick method!) We all went to the maverick way show after. Deaner, Russ and Daruda rocked! Everyone had a great time.
